[ARCHIVED] Fourth of July Festivities in the City of North Myrtle Beach

Festivities

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The City of North Myrtle Beach is gearing up to celebrate Independence Day and invites residents and visitors to partake in the festivities. The City is preparing an array of exciting events that promise to delight, from dazzling fireworks displays to live music performances. The festivities are set to create lasting memories for all attendees. Join us as we come together to honor the values of freedom and unity that define our great nation!

All City Choir July 4th Cantata | The City of North Myrtle Beach presents the All City Choir July 4th Cantata, One Nation Under God. This free event will be held on Saturday, June 29 at 3:30 PM and on Sunday, June 30 at 3:30 PM at Living Water Baptist Church in Longs. While this is a free event, tickets are required. Tickets can be picked up at North Myrtle Beach City Hall or at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center. There is a 4-ticket per person maximum.

Salute to America March and Salute from the Shore Flyover | Salute to America is a march organized by the American Legion Post 186 that honors all current and former military members, as well as the United States of America. The march will begin at 11 AM and music at the Horseshoe will begin at 1 PM.

Salute from the Shore is a unique opportunity for individuals to salute and honor our Armed Forces while celebrating Independence Day on South Carolina beaches.

The military flyover will begin at 1 PM and will stretch the entire length of South Carolina’s coast. This year, as we celebrate Salute from the Shore's 15th year, a C-17 from the Charleston Air Force Base, F16s from the McEntire Joint National Guard Base, and a privately owned Vintage Aircraft will be featured in the flyover.

Learn more about Salute from the Shore by visiting their website.

Music on Main | Join us for Music on Main featuring The Entertainers from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Horseshoe on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach! Families are encouraged to visit downtown to experience the many restaurants of Main Street, listen to live music, shop, and dance til’ you drop. Remember to bring your beach towel or chair - Please do NOT set up your chairs or towels at the Horseshoe until 2 PM.

Kick back and unwind with us in your beach chair as we salute America!

Fourth of July Fireworks Show | The City of North Myrtle Beach will host a free Fourth of July Fireworks Show at the Cherry Grove Pier. This event is scheduled from 9:30 PM through 10 PM on July 4, 2024.

For anyone planning to enjoy the free, professional fireworks show, please be aware of the following information:

  • Show starts at 9:30 PM and ends at 10 PM.
  • Operating a golf cart after daylight hours is prohibited by South Carolina state law. Daylight hours are defined by the SC Code of Laws as 6 AM through 8 PM during Daylight Saving Time.
  • The sale, possession, or use of fireworks in the city limits of North Myrtle Beach is prohibited. The Cherry Grove Pier fireworks display is a permitted professional event.
  • During the Fireworks Show, the 3500 block of North Ocean Boulevard (area where Cherry Grove Pier is located) will be closed - This includes the Cherry Grove Pier.
  • 300’ of the beach on both sides of the Cherry Grove Pier will be closed to the public starting at 7 PM until cleared to open.
  • Please check the tide chart and plan accordingly for those planning to watch from the shore.
  • Parking is not allowed in the median on Ocean Boulevard.

Following the Fireworks Show, the North Myrtle Beach Police Department will initiate a reverse traffic pattern in Cherry Grove to accommodate the large number of vehicles leaving the Cherry Grove area. During the traffic reversal, the following will occur:

  • Ocean Boulevard traffic will move northbound and southbound only (do NOT turn onto Sea Mountain Highway).
  • Drivers will access Highway 17 North via 11th Avenue North.
  • All southbound traffic on Nixon Street and Duffy Street will make a right-hand turn onto Sea Mountain Highway.
  • All eastbound traffic on Sea Mountain Highway will turn right at Duffy Street and proceed to Ocean Boulevard via 22nd Avenue North.
  • Once the Fireworks Show traffic has exited the Cherry Grove area, the North Myrtle Beach Police Department will resume normal traffic patterns.

Please be patient and exercise caution entering and exiting the Cherry Grove area prior to, during, and immediately following the Fourth of July Fireworks Show.
