Barefoot Resort & Golf Swing Bridge Annual Maintenance Starts January 4

On Monday, January 4, a contractor begins annual maintenance of the swing bridge at Barefoot Resort & Golf. The contractor will clean the bridge and paint where necessary. This year, SCDOT also performs bridge inspections.

Late January 4 or during the morning of January 5, bridge traffic reduces to one lane and motorists should anticipate some delays. During the maintenance period, the bridge remains open to motor vehicle traffic but one lane of traffic is required most of the time. Traffic signalization is established to aid motorists.

Excluding days lost to poor weather, the contractor has 30 days in which to complete the maintenance work. In past years, the work has taken 21-25 days to accomplish. The inclusion of SCDOT inspections this year may or may not alter that timeframe. The City will know more as work progresses and will keep you informed.
