The Board of Zoning Appeals is appointed to four-year terms by the mayor and council. It is the board’s duty to hear and decide appeals where there is an alleged error in the administration of the zoning ordinance, and to hear and decide appeals for variances from the requirements of the zoning ordinance. The board also hears and decides requests for special exceptions. Decisions of the board may be appealed to circuit court.
